I opted for a sesame bagel with lox spread. Ed Levine of Serious Eats thinks that Absolute Bagels are the best in the country; I don’t know if I’d go that far. I found my bagel today to be a little undercooked. I love doughy bagels, but they need to be crispy on the outside as well. I think Murray’s Bagels makes some of the best crispy-outside, doughy-inside bagels in town, but Murray’s is also 100 blocks away from my apartment. Absolute Bagels is only an eight block-walk and turns out a pretty good product. What is your favorite NYC bagel?
