Johnstontron Parental Eat-a-Thon coming your way!
Mom and Dad will be hitting NYC in about a month for my j-school graduation, which means I get to play one of my favorite games ever: which restaurants (the ones I normally can’t afford) should we visit? As you know, last time my parents were in town, we dined at Il Mulino and brunch mecca Norma’s. Of course, all of this obsessing over where to eat is not just because I’m food-crazy; the parents have been asking me about where we’ll eat for the last two months. I’ve already decided that one night we should eat at Johnstontron Top 10 member Kefi. But for graduation night, when I can pick somewhere really special? I don’t know. Anything that’s Italian or seafood goes over well with my parents, so I was thinking Esca. (Check out the photo of the cute backyard!) I’ve wanted to eat there since I read this New Yorker profile on David Pasternack a few years ago. But I’m also wondering if it’s easier to get a table at Babbo these recessionary days. Let me know if you have any thoughts or other recommendations. In the meantime, I should, you know, start studying for finals to ensure that I actually DO graduate.
