Dear readers, while I was busy telling you about my Argentine culinary adventures last week I didn’t get a chance to mention that Amanda, Sue and I ventured to another Johnstontron Top 10 contender last week… Upper West Side Shake Shack!
Now, I had enjoyed the marvels of the original Madison Square Park Shake Shack before, but I have wanted to go to the Upper West Side branch since it opened last fall. And I was not disappointed. There is something about those Shack Burgers. I’m not sure if it’s how the beef is seasoned, or maybe it’s the secret Shack Sauce, or maybe it’s the whole package. Maybe I’ll have to eat a few more Shack Burgers to figure it out, either at Madison Square Park, the UWS or at the new Mets’ Citi Field. In the meantime, I’ll once again chalk it up to the genius of Danny Meyer.
Also, in case you’re not keeping track, I’ve crossed off three names from the Johnstontron Top 10 in three months: Dovetail, Treats Truck and Upper West Side Shack Shack. Not bad, eh?
