I had been dying to try a Shake Shack frozen custard, but because it’s still winter, the Shake Shack folks only feature one custard per day. And Thursday’s flavor was Strawberry Blonde. That didn’t really strike my fancy (Saturday’s was Coffee and Donuts! Why couldn’t we have Coffee and Donuts!?!), so we decided to order a concrete, which Amanda and I classified as a high-class McFlurry or Blizzard. We ordered the “Shacky Road”: chocolate custard, Valrhona chocolate crunchies, marshmallow and almonds. Maybe I just wasn’t having a dessert day (which is so not like me), but I was more into the awesome Shake Shack fries that we ordered to accompany the awesome Shack Burger. I’ll just have to give the frozen custard another shot next time.
